Frequently Asked Questions
What does CDB invest in?
The portfolio spans several complementary asset classes: private credit (senior secured corporate, asset-backed, and specialty-finance strategies), real estate credit (senior real estate debt and mortgage strategies), institutional funds, U.S. Treasuries and cash equivalents for liquidity, and selective alternative income such as infrastructure and commodities-related strategies.
How does CDB seek to generate income?
Capital is allocated across income-oriented investments — private credit, real estate credit, institutional strategies, Treasuries, cash equivalents, and alternative income. The interest and distributions generated across those holdings support the issuer's obligation to pay your fixed 8.95% APY.
Is the 9.00% APY guaranteed?
No. Your 8.95% APY is a fixed contractual obligation of the issuer for the 12-month term, so it does not fluctuate with portfolio performance — but it is not guaranteed in the way a bank deposit is. CDB is an investment that carries risk, including possible loss of principal. All material risks are disclosed in the offering circular.
Can portfolio allocations change?
Yes. Allocations are actively managed and may shift as market conditions change, guided by diversification, liquidity management, and capital allocation discipline. Your 8.95% APY remains fixed for the full 12-month term regardless of how the underlying portfolio is positioned.
Who manages the portfolio?
The portfolio is professionally managed by Compound Asset Management, with ongoing investment review of holdings and managers, liquidity management, and portfolio oversight as conditions change.
When is interest credited?
Interest compounds daily and is distributed to investors monthly. You can take those distributions in cash or reinvest them.
What happens at maturity?
Each investment is issued as its own bond with a 12-month term. At maturity your principal and any earned distributions are returned to your linked bank account, or you can reinvest into a new term. Specific provisions are set out in the offering documents.
Can I redeem before maturity?
Yes. You can request a withdrawal at any time through your Compound account, subject to the terms of the offering. Withdrawals are typically processed within a few business days. For the specific redemption provisions that apply to your investment, review the offering documents.
How do I qualify to invest?
You must have a U.S. Social Security number, a permanent U.S. residential address, and currently reside in the U.S. The minimum initial investment is $10,000. Identity and investor verification are completed during onboarding through Compound's secure online platform.
What tax documents will I receive?
Interest income is reported to you annually on the applicable IRS form, delivered electronically through your Compound account. Compound does not provide tax advice — consult your own tax advisor about your particular situation.
